Who can go Over the Edge with CEED?
Edgers must be at least 14 years old and weigh between 100 and 300 lbs. No experience necessary!
Once you’ve met your fundraising goal of $1,000 or more, we’ll contact you to schedule your rappel time for Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Is Over the Edge safe?
Yes, absolutely! Over the Edge has never had a single incident or accident since their inception in 2003. Every event is set up as an industrial worksite and is compliant with all federal and state OSHA Fall Protection Standards and OSHA Federal and State laws. Their policies and procedures adhere to the best practices identified by IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) counsel — a strict regulatory body that has regimented guidelines and safety protocols that far exceed the OSHA, Workers Compensation, and state labor codes.
Will I be trained?
Certified team members train you on the equipment, ensure the gear fits properly, and attach you to the rope. You’re always in radio communication with a rope technician and as you approach the bottom, a team member will help with your landing.
How long will it take to complete the rappel?
Depending on your desired speed, rappelling takes 10-15 minutes to reach the ground. You’ll be in constant radio contact with our rope technicians during your rappel. We encourage you to go slow and take in the whole experience.
What do I need to do to participate?

What is a Fundraising Goal Guarantee form?
The credit card guarantee form states that you are committed to participating in CEED’s Over the Edge fundraiser as an “Edger” and in return for a guaranteed rappel time, you will fundraise or pay a total of $1,000. If you have not fundraised the full $1,000 by 12:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, your credit card on file will be charged the difference. Click the button below to download the form.
*** PLEASE NOTE: This form is only required if you have not reached your fundraising goal by Friday, October 19th, 2018. At that time you must submit this form or forfeit your participation in the event. All money raised at that point will be nonrefundable and will be considered a donation to the poverty prevention programs at CEED. How does the Fundraising Goal Guarantee work?
STEP ONE: Sign and submit the Fundraising Goal Guarantee form via email to Alyssa Hennessy at events@ncceed.org. Must be submitted no later than Friday, October 19, 2018 at 12:00pm EST.
STEP TWO: Schedule your rappel time for Saturday, October 27, 2018.
STEP THREE: Continue fundraising on your customized Fundrazr fundraising page!
STEP FOUR: Go Over The Edge on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
STEP FIVE: You may continue to fundraise after the event, up until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 .
STEP SIX: On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, after 12:00 p.m., any balance due will be charged to your credit card.
